If there’s a naughty list, Izzy Sassafras is on it—but she’s ready to make a new start this Christmas. Especially after leaving her lying, cheating, no-good husband and fleeing to her old hometown of Matrimony, Georgia. Izzy’s made herself a promise: no more men. All she wants to do is get her wedding business up and running—and mend fences with her estranged sisters. But Izzy knows she’s in trouble when her very first client, a smooth-talking Texan, makes her light up like a Christmas tree.
Desperate for business, private investigator Levi Fox reluctantly takes a case involving a runaway wife in a town called Matrimony. When he meets sweet, sexy Izzy, he decides she can’t possibly be as innocent as she seems. At first, posing as her client is the perfect cover; but he soon imagines himself as a groom—with Izzy as his Christmas bride! Will this case end with a trip to the chapel…or the jailhouse?
Going to the Chapel had me laughing out loud. Izzy and her sisters were disasters waiting to happen. Disasters with a capital D. It seemed that everything they touched or thought about ended badly for everyone involved. I enjoyed watching them all come back together after being out of each other’s lives for so long and try to figure out what secrets the others were keeping.
When Levi took the case to find Izzy I knew where this story would end. I was hoping for sparks, romance, and hot love. Most of those were found in Going to the Chapel, the rest was left to my imagination. The sparks were obvious from the first time Levi saw and met Izzy. I could feel them jump out through the page. Of course, there was hot love. What story is complete without it?
I will definitely recommend Going to the Chapel to anyone looking for a short fun story.
About the Author:
USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Rita Herron fell in love with books at the ripe age of eight when she read her first Trixie Belden mystery. Although she wanted to be a writer then and actually scrawled her first novel at age twelve, she didn’t think real people grew up to be writers, so she became a kindergarten teacher instead. Ten years ago, she traded her classroom storytelling and puppets for a computer and now writes so she doesn’t have to get a real job.
Having sold over sixty books to date, she enjoys spinning spine-tingling romantic suspense tales filled with murder, mayhem, and spicy romance as well as sexy romantic comedies. Rita Herron currently writes romantic suspense for Harlequin Intrigue and she’s writing dark, gritty romantic suspense thrillers for Amazon Montlake.
